Dear
visitor,
Thank you very much for the time you spend in the universe of Beatronic Supply,
I hope you will find what you are seeking. I have tried to create this site
in a way, which will make it easy, fast and logic to find the information needed.
The design philosophy -
old-fashioned?
Call me "old fashion" but the design philosophy is focusing on an easy
and logical way to navigate on the site, over a fancy a look with a lot of
animations. This policy has been fixed since we entered the web in 1997 and are
not bound to change any day soon. One of the major differences between the
Beatronic site and most other B2B sites (often made in CMS), is that you will
never loose the navigation bar here, no matter how long you scroll down. A lot
of these "modern sites" has a locked navigation menu which disappears up and out
of the screen when scrolling down but not here, the navigation will never leave
the top of the screen. The use of the full screen instead of only 800 pix, as
often seen, is also a deliberate decision.
However, should you find any misspelling or "poor
English" it would be highly appreciated if you take the time to point out the error so I can correct it.
This site is mainly made in
English since this language is common among our subsidiary offices
and suppliers a round the world. Parts of the site is now under translation,
mainly in to former Eastern European languages (e.g. Polish, Czech and
Ukraine) as English is still not as
wide spread as in Western Europe. If a given page has been translated, you will
find a small flag in the top left corner. Clicking on this flag will give you
the page in the selected language. Furthermore, we are buying domain names
both on behalf of our offices and suppliers. Today we have currently registered
the following domains:
Most of the different domains are linked to specific sub pages on our site and not only
the index page.
The design and tools
For visors with an interest in web-design; the Beatronic website has been
running and under continues developing since the autumn of 1997. The two first editions
of our website were made in MS Publisher 95/98, since this simple tool also was
already used to create adds, but due to limitations in Publisher, Issue C was
created in FrontPage 2000/2002 which gave a much more dynamic site and a lot of
facilities.
The "skeleton" or base structure and design of the current edition (Issue D)
is done in FrontPage 2003 but most functionalities are done by a lot of
different JavaScript written directly in HTML, e.g. the whole navigation and
log-in is now
managed by JavaScript. Another major difference compeered to previous versions
are that this version is total frameless The website
is optimized for a resolution of minimum
1024*768, since this is the most common resolution. Some user are still
using a resolution of 800*600. The site will
still work in this low resolution since it will resize automatically but some
sub pages will create a horizontal scroll bar as well which isn't optimal.
Track n' trace
We are using a lot of different trackers and statistic programs in order to
monitor your behavior on our site. These data are used to optimize the site and
make it even more effective. Also we are getting valuable data about from where
the user origins. Below you'll find links to the most used counters and
trackers.
Even we keep an open eye on the visitors and there behaviors on our site,
even demand users to enter data about them self in order to be allowed to enter
certain parts of the site, we would never misuse this information for e.g.
spamming purposes. The solo purpose of this tracking is to improve the site and
optimize it to the visitors needs.
Updates and revisions
One of the most important tasks when running any website is for the site to be
updated on a regular basis. On average we do updates at least on a monthly basis, even several times
a month. In the table below you can see the different editions and the date of the last update.
A change in the issue letter indicate a major function and design change. The
revision no. indicates an update and minor function changes.
